This is a post with alot of pictures so beware! wait what am i talking about, i always post alot of pictures,oh well it's my blog so i can if i want too right?? RIGHT!!

today we went to Scarborough Faire and Renaissance Festival!  we had a great time with mimi and gramps, they left a little before we did but i think it might have had something to do with having to schlep my two kids around like pack mules!!

This was the first guy we saw when we walked in the gates!  ry was not to sure about him, and so began the schlepping!

next we were on to the parade, i really didn't know what to expect with a medieval fair and i'm still not sure to tell you the truth but it was definitely an experience!

i didn't know that one of the requirements for bellydancing was too actually HAVE a belly
Renaissance festivals are not for those who are extremely modest (well i'm modest but...) because you see ALOT of boobs(most of which you wish you never had) and alot of bellies(all of which you wish you never had!)

this pirate(i think) was handing out treasures and ry was all about that!! and of course caroline DID NOT want to be left out on the action!

then we were off to the joust!!
the kids both had prime seats(see what i mean about the schlepping)

the elephant ride was next and that was the part i was most excited for!!!
look at that grin on his cute little face!  he was excited and caroline was trying to get comfortable on the elephants back!

after that mimi and gramps were off and we headed over to the petting zoo where ry practiced some medieval torture on the animals (well not really but might have if i let him, he's a little rough )

well that about sums it up-there are hundreds of more pictures but i wont bore you with those!!  we had a great time, don't think we will go back every year but we will go back!  thanks mimi and gramps or dave as ry now likes to call you!

ps. mom start working on our costumes for next year..... : )

We have spent the last few days at the museum and had a blast!!  This is Ryans new mode f transportation and he loves it!!  He actually asks to sit up there!!  It sure beats a big bulky double stroller!

This is a new Mexican Exhibit and the kids LOVED it I had to pull Ryan out of there, the attendent was very kind and showed the kids all the different things in there!

There is the dino exhibit!  Ryan and Caroline had a great time in the dino footprint!

The kids had a great time playing in the water fountain out front, I think they played out there for over an hour!  Well Caroline didn't last that long, she got trampled by her brother then didn't want to go back with her busted lip, so she decieded to take a nap!!

oh look at that bellyand thighs, I just want ot squeeze them!

this was the next day at the museum, it wasn't a sucessful as the first but we had fun anyways(well kinda)
caroline looked cute and that's all that matter's right....RIGHT!!!!

8 gallons of water later!  I was so mad I couldn't even take pictures!  I thought Ryan was "going to the bathroom" which lately has been a long process at night(stalling at it's finest), and we have taken the little to no attention route to speed things along at bedtime.  Well.....today Ryan decided to play in the sink!  Play in the sink he did....when I opened the bathroom door the water started spilling out, the was water in the drawers, running off the counter top, around the toilet it was every where!  I was so mad!!!  I don't think he will do this again any time soon, he won't forget his punishments any time soon.  We had to invest in a shop vac to get the mess all cleaned up-I sucked up 8 gallons of water plus 10 waterlogged towels!!

our fun weekend with mimi started with a trip to mckinney trade days.  the kids love looking at the puppies, we love looking at everything else

then we decieded to head home and make some strawberry freezer jam and homemade rolls
mimi's calculations were a little off and we ended up making BOWLS of jam(i think 7 bowls to be exact)

and then there were the rolls-we had a little trouble to start off with and then we figured it out!
don't they look like heaven!!

freezer jam queen herself!!  it's she pretty!!

next it was off to play a game of twister with the little man!
which lasted all of about two minutes-i think it took longer to set up the game then he played,
so then we decieded to play Hi Ho Cherry O
that went a little better, but still he has the attention span of a fruit fly!!!  we practiced a lot of folded arms waiting for our turn!

by now the bread was ready(the jam wasn't set yet but it still tasted GOOOOD)
we may or may not have eaten the whole pan of hot rolls......

then last of all to complete a fun day with mimi it was story time!

and a little snuggle with satchmo

and then it was bottle time and off to bed for the little kiddo's while mimi and i sewed!!  what a day, thanks mimi for all the fun!!

How to buckle your carseat;
directions are as follows

1st Step
get arms into straps(much more difficult then may appear)

2nd Step
Buckle top snap-takes lots of concentration to get all the fingers in the right spot.

3rd Step
now get both buckles on the bottom in.

4th Step
SQUEEZE AND PUUSSSH!
(and don't get frustrated if they
don't go in right away)

Final Step
Smile because you are proud of yourself-well it looks like we forgot that step, oh well he buckled himself!!  It is so helpful and it gets him in his carseat really fast.

He is really growing by leaps and bounds and sometimes I look at him and see him as a 16 year old who doesn't want to snuggle his mom any more or doesn't ask for my kisses and it makes me sad and scared and excited all at the same time.   Stay sweet my baby boy!  Today he told me diapers were yucky and he is a big boy!

My Menu Wall!!!

I am so excited about my new Menu Wall!  I got the window at McKinney Trade Days for $12-i did the happy, happy, joy, joy dance!!!  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it when I bought it, but by the time i got to the car i knew exactly what i wanted to do- A MENU BOARD!!!  I have a dry erase board  but it is so ugly i have never hung it up!

So then i came home and was trying to come up with some more ideas for my big empty wall and low and behold Under The Table and Dreaming just did a post of her kitchen, SOOO I copied it~heehee!

now how do i cover that ugly useless intercom box???  it's messing up the look!!  Shalene is going to cut me some vinyl to put on my  menu board-did i mention i am in love with this?  i love that the panes are so big i could put our whole schedule for each day if i was so inclined!

Today during nap time I made these with the tutorial from Prudent Baby, it was so easy and I recycled older towels that were a little stained.  Hopefully this will help me keep track of our towels while we pool hop this summer!
patiently waiting!

yummy!

hopefully we will get alot of use out of these in the next couple months and cut down on loads of laundry I have to do!

the most amazing fact of the whole process is that my sewing mess is all cleaned up and put away already!
