Whaattt HAPPENED???

So Ryan was all ready for bed, fresh and clean from a nice warm bath, lotioned up and in clean warm jammies. Jared was giving him a bottle(I'm slowly weaning, I'm just kind of over it.) and all of a sudden Ryan started PUKING and all I could think of was "oh no my brand new clean carpets that I waited two days for and are just starting to dry out, please, please, please don't let that land on the carpet!" Being a good dad Jared kept it all on him, I kept thinking he was done and then more would come out-it was crazy. After it was all over Ryan looked just as stunned as I was. I don't think he is sick I just think he was full. This wasn't even half of the mess.

Poor thing the jammies he was wearing had to go over his head, so up the nose it went. He was laughing and kicking the whole time so it didn't seem to bother him. Back into the bath he went again! I think it was a plot to take another bath, and we did the whole bedtime routine again. He finished the rest of his bottle and off to bed he went without a peep!! Not sure what caused it, but I guess he was fine!

APARTMENTS!!!!

I'm really tried of living in an apartment-it's on the third floor, we're running out of space and we don't have enough room for the dog(which I do miss in case some people were wondering), oh and did I mention the third floor, and a twenty pound baby who is still extremely immobile. So last week I scheduled to have the carpets clean on Wednesday(yesterday), so all weekend I cleaned and tidied up so the the floors were really clean and all the clutter was gone. My carpets were GROSS, a couple days ago I spilled an entire container of yogurt, then mixed with baby food, and a glass of milk that Jared spilled while trying to hand to me, we all know how gross spoiled milk smells, so my carpets were disgusting. Yesterday morning I woke up and moved all the furniture out of the way and did a good vacuum job over the whole house(which I need a new one before I get the dog back, dog hair is so hard on vacuums, I've gone though three vacuums in the last three year-does anyone know of a good vacuum that will work with dog hair?) made sure everything was off the floor, then got the baby up for the morning which was about 10:00, quickly got him dress then got in the car and drove to my parents house-got suck in traffic at 11:08 am and went 4 miles in one hour!! Ugh to be stuck in the car for over two hours is not my idea of fun-luckily the end result was fun! Hung out with my family all day and then at 9pm called Jared and asked him how the carpets looked, "They look great," me, "are they dry already?" "yep they feel pretty dry," was his response. I excitedly drove to see my new clean carpets and my husband. I opened the front door with a sleeping baby in my arms, took one look at the carpets and knew nothing had happened!!! Such man vision!!! How could he not tell? I love ya hun but come on now.... He had nicely put everything back where it belongs and took everything out of the babies crib. I asked them "how did you think the carpets were clean?" "well there wasn't anything on them, they looked pretty clean to me!!" Well I guess that's true, with no clutter the house does look alot cleaner. So I called the apartment and asked them what happened and they said the was a mix up ie. they forgot to call ( I think ie is right Jared and I had a big disscusion about the difference bewteen ie and eg...but now I can't remember.) So they said they could come this afternoon, I called at 2 and they said the cleaners had just come and picked up the key and it should only take about 30 minutes. At three I headed home with a VERY tired baby and again the carpets weren't clean uuuuuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhh, so now I was really fired up I called the office and asked what was going on since I called over an hour ago. They said he had to clean another house first and that he was on his way. I was walking out to take Ryan on a walk and the cleaners pulled up FINALLY after all that it only took 20 minutes and now Ryan is peacefully sleeping!!!

Boys will be boys

We had our first "boy" milestone today...Ryan found his "toy" if you catch my drift. It was pretty funny because he was sitting in the bath tub and he could see it since he was naked so he kept grabing for it. He started to play with it then try and play with another toy but he couldn't stop!!! So we got out of the tub. I didn't think those sort of boy things started at 7 months!!! I can't post pictures but it was really funny!

Rollin rollin rollin rawhide!!

Being able to roll can pin you in some corners that you just can't get your self out of! In the last week he just really learned hoe to roll around, I've had to move the coffee table to the side of the room so that he doesn't bang his head.

Here's a video of Ryan rolling around the room. I'm not sure how to teach him to sit up because he knows what he wants to play with and he know how to get there he just can't figure out how to sit up. If I did as many crunches as he does dring the day trying to sit up I'd have a six pack for sure!!

Some picture from the last week or so

ride'm cowboy-you should see Delaney rock this horse!!
So my friend Jen inspired me to make a oneise for Ryan-I love it the but some people asked me if he was a girl, and that has never happened before....I think it was the pants, I'm not sure. Jared told me boys should NEVER wear patterned pants.
It has been such a blast having my family near by. I've really enjoyed being able to spend time with them and having them get to know Ryan. We all went to a TCU baseball game, and it was a beautiful day and then we went back to my house and had dinner and play tribond, which was a nice break from the train game which my entire family love but I hate!
Happy boy out of the tub!! This is the towel my Auntie Laur gave to Ryan for Christmas.
Nakey baby! He is getting so big I think he has gained two pounds in the last couple of weeks!! What a chunky monkey!!!

You've got to try them!!

Theses are the BEST cupcakes. I saw Martha Stewart show the other day and this lady was on making cupcakes. They were so beautiful I thought to myself "man I wish there was a store around here, but theres not so get over it..." then a couple seconds later she said."I have a store in Newport Beach, Beverly Hills and DALLAS." I was so excited especially since I was driving to Dallas in about an hour to teach my sisters enrichment. The stop was well worth the time and the money (at $3.25 each these are not an everyday thing). I bought four to take to my sisters house to share with her and my mom. I bought three flavors Peanut Butter Chip, Red Velvet, and two strawberries. So we cut them all up so we could all taste a little of each. Let me just say OH MY GOSH!!! The strawberry cupcake brought Katie to tears honestly it was Amazing!! So now I'm making four dozen to share with friends on Valentines day. I'm sure they wont turn out quite as good as the store bought version but I think they will do. Below is the recipe for the Strawberry Cupcake. Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day.

Strawberry cupcakes
Makes 1 dozen
2/3 cup whole fresh or frozen strawberries, thawed
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/4 cup whole milk, room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 large egg, room temperature
2 large egg whites, room temperature

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners; set aside.
Place strawberries in a small food processor; process until pureed. You should have about 1/3 cup of puree, add a few more strawberries if necessary or save any extra puree for frosting; set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In a small bowl, mix together milk, vanilla, and strawberry puree; set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter on medium-high speed, until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until well combined and fluffy. Reduce the mixer speed to medium and slowly add egg and egg whites until just blended.
With the mixer on low, slowly add half the flour mixture; mix until just blended. Add the milk mixture; mix until just blended. Slowly add remaining flour mixture, scraping down sides of the bowl with a spatula, as necessary, until just blended.
Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups. Transfer muffin tin to oven and bake until tops are just dry to the touch, 22 to 25 minutes. Transfer muffin tin to a wire rack and let cupcakes cool completely in tin before icing.

Strawberry Frosting
Makes enough for 1 dozen cupcakes
1/2 cup whole frozen strawberries, thawed
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, firm and slightly cold
Pinch of coarse salt
3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions
Place strawberries in the bowl of a small food processor; process until pureed. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together butter and salt on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce mixer speed and slowly add confectioners' sugar; beat until well combined. Add vanilla and 3 tablespoons strawberry puree (save any remaining strawberry puree for another use); mix until just blended. Do not overmix or frosting will incorporate too much air. Frosting consistency should be dense and creamy, like ice cream.

I'm a big boy now!!

So this is Ryans new carseat!! I can't believe how big he is getting so fast. Since my sister is my baby product scout she found this carseat for me. It has the highest crash ratings in europe (who's standards are way higher then ours) and it folds down to seven inches, so it will be good to travel with, and it will hold up to 80 pounds. To get our money's worth he will ride in this carseat until he is in 5th grade. "come on sweetheart, come get in your carseat" It was a little expensive but luckily I saved some of my gift cards from when Ryan was born so that took a little of the heat off the purchase price. If anyone watches Jon and Kate plus 8(I really like the show, could you imagine 8 kids...i love watching other peoples lives, and there's NO new shows ugh!!) this is the carseat they use. It's kind of funny to see Ryan in this big ol' seat now because his other one was WAY too small, head sticking over the top and feet hanging over the edge. Also it's kind of nice not to lug him and his carseat up three flights of stairs.

SUPER BOWL!!!!

What a priceless picture!! My two favorite guys smiling at the SAME time. We had a great day at church then at some friends house to watch the superbowl. I think Ryan is back to his normal happy self because he was smiles all day. I guess that means back to the gym for me.

Tired little boy!

Now that he is not swaddled anymore it's funny to see all the different postions that Ryan can sleep in. Just tonight he rolled over from back to belly for the first time, which I didn't see but went into his room because he was screeming bloody murder and I flipped him back over.
I can't believe how big he is getting! He's really starting to squirm and wiggle. We have his 6 month check up on Tuesday. It's a little late but his ped. is SO wonderful I will wait. I'll give you an update on length and weight on Tuesday.

R-O-D-E-O

Today we went to the stockshow and rodeo!! It was such a beautiful day it was so nice to get out and do something fun.
The bucking bronc

All the action wore him out!! As usual Ryan was wonderful. They did fireworks at the begining of the show and he didn't even jump, and all the other noise didn't seem to phase him either. What a little trooper!

We've been sick!

I think he is having a little heart to heart with his dog!! Ryan has been sick all week with his first real cold-I think this week was harder on me then him! He wasn't comfortable where ever he was or how he was held, but I think we are on the mend now. Except now dad doesn't feel good, from on baby to another.
