Books in Bed

Gramps and Mimi bought Ry some wonderful classic children's books for his birthday, and Ry has really enjoyed reading them every night. Jared will read to him with all the different voices, Ryan just eats it up. I thought this picture was to sweet to pass up.

never passes up the opportunity to cheese for the camera!Having his glass of milk before bed because he has already perfected the art of stalling. He will ask for milk, to go potty, another hug or kiss, to say night to dad again, the list goes on and on. Or when I say it's time to go to bed he will run to where ever dad is screaming, "Helllppp dad help me!" Little stinker has it all figured out already.

Sharing with dad, everyone loves a sippy cup of milk didn't you know!!

You've got a friend in me
WARNING may cause side effects:
Loss of breath from being squeezed to death, whiplash from being dropped like a bad habit, sudden out bursts from anything you find objectionable, loss of eye sight, major headache, loss of sleep, loss of hearing, loss of appetite, stolen toys...... The Benefits: a best friend, someone to play with(eventually), someone else to blame, a protector, someone to cover for you, someone to talk to, someone who will understand, dating each others friends(way, way, eventually), the list of benefits far out weighs the side effects.

Ryan really is loving her more and more each day, and wants to know where she is when he goes to bed and where she is when he wakes up. I hope that he will continue to show that much concern for her as they grow, and will be her protector and best friend. She lights up when she she's him or when he holds her, she especially loves it when he makes her laugh, which is when he stands in front of her and sticks his tongue out.

I get to do this.......
While he is mesmerized by this.....
And she does this(you gotta LOVE the bumbo).......

I even read and finished a book this week, that's a first since I've had Caroline

He would watch this back to back ALL day if I let him, I draw the line at twice(maybe three time depending on how hot it is out side)

A video for GiGi!!!

Thanks Gigi for the Birthday money, my mommy bought me two new pairs of shoes!!

L.I.F.E.
Life has been crazy, some people are great about blogging about themselves or there life, but right now my kids are my life. I finally feel like I'm starting to gain control of things going on around me. My house is still a mess( I don't know if that will ever really change), I'm finally reading again before I go to bed, and I've been sewing a little. Ryan has decided that he doesn't want to potty train anymore, so I've just let it go for now, I'm not going to push him. Caroline is happy FINALLY, things are starting to be a lot easier and I'm feeling like a mom instead of a zombie! I have a lot of sewing to work on and two books I want to finish, well really more then that but who's counting. My calling in primary as first counselor is starting to pick up, and I'm nervous about doing all that needs to be done and doing a good job of it. Sharing Times are getting alot easier and way less intimidating. My sister is moving to St. Louis in just a couple weeks, and I don't think I've really let that set in yet, even though she lives about an hour away we still hang out about once a week, she is my best friend and I've truly enjoyed all the time I've been able to spend with her and her family. The pool has been our best friend this summer, making us all tan, and tired. Our other new best friend is the Library!! I love the library, Ry loves the books and I love getting new music for the car, the same 6 kids songs are staying to get old. I want to figure out some fun crafts and get my house clean- those are my two perpetual goals!

Fun Day with Mimi

We had a great day with Mimi yesterday!! The neighborhood that she lives in has a sandy pool, so it is a lot of fun to go visit. The kids had a great time and we all got some sun!! Sister slept most of the time!

Ryan had a great time playing with his cars in the sand!

Miss D was totally happy too!! These two little kids are FISH!! They can both swim(ms. D is way better) but they love the water!

The Parties Over!!!

Ryan opening his Birthday presents, he open some little tonka trucks first and that was all he wanted!! Having his cake and eating it too...only on your birthday can you eat your cake before you eat your pizza!!
Playing air hockey with Grandma-Ry had a hard time understanding that he needed to hold on to the paddle
Having a great time with Delaney at the bounce house!!!
This is the best pic I could get of Ryan's shirt!

Okay, now Ryan's birthday is officially over so the spoiling ends now!!!! Hopefully the temper tantrums will end SOON too!!

Party party party

King Ryan at his 2nd birthday party!! We had such a great time at Jump for Fun!! Katelyn's family owns a great bounce house in Southlake, which we were able to use for Ryan's party! Everyone bounced like crazy and had a great time!! Mimi Made Ryan the best cake ever!!! I made Ryan's shirt, I'll post a better picture of it later but I was very proud of myself!

We had a construction themed party which was perfect for my busy little man. We used black plastic table table clothes with white duct tape to look like the road and then the construction cone from the dollar bin at Target.

Happy Birthday Ryan

WE love you so much Ry!!! You have brought so much joy, happiness and laughter into our lives! We are so excited for your future and to watch you continue to grow and learn!! It honestly seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital waiting for your arrival, the moment you came I was in love and my world was forever changed and I could not imagine my life without you!!
It has been so fun to watch you learn and grow over the past 2 years! You are a very smart little boy who knows what he wants! Right now you are into cars and each day you latch onto a different car and it is my job to know what car it is you like that day and where to find it once you have miss placed it. No other car will work even though you have a ton, you want "that" car and once we've found the car the world is at peace!! All day long you say,"mommy look," or "mommy watch," I love watching you learn new things and really start to use your imagination!! You love to color, swim, read books, watch movies(Cars is the movie of choice right now), play with your cars, dinosaurs, animals, listen to music, play with your cousins, see daddy at work, hold your sister, take baths, brush your teeth, swing and slide, go to the zoo, the list goes on and on. You have so many words I can't count, you can repeat anything that is said. You melt my heart when you say,"thank you mommy," without any prompts. You are starting to potty train and seem to be picking it up very quickly, you can count to five and love to repeat your ABC's. You love to roll around in the laundry just after it comes out of the dryer, you LOVE your blankie, you love pancakes, pizza, and ice cream. You are a VERY picky eater, there's not much you will try unless it is candy!! You have a major sweet tooth! You can jump off the diving board and swim to mommy or daddy without the help of floats. You are very kind and gentle(most of the time) to your sister, I hope that you two will be the best of friends. You are a rough and tumble kid, always running, falling, laughing, and rough housing. You always have a bruise somewhere from some fall, but your tough and rarely cry. You love going place and always think a friend or family member is going to meet us where ever we are going. You seem to have a mind like a steel trap, and remember funny details that I would never think you would have remember. Turning two has brought on some challenges though- you are very stubborn and as a result have spent alot of time in out, learning how to obey, and temper tantrums have been more frequent lately, but I have been told that it is all part of growing up and learning how to be independent and so we will grow to together as we teach you how to be a happy, kind boy.
Ryan again we love you so much and are so thankful that you are part of our family forever!!

we're going to the zoo zoo zoo how about you you you....

The high for today was going to only be 95 and for some reason I thought that meant 82 and that it was going to be nice and cool so we should go to the zoo and enjoy the wonderful weather!(nice run on) I forgot that we live in Texas and no matter what, summers are HOT!! Well my family decided to join me on my crazy expedition and brave the heat at the Dallas Zoo!!

Delaney was bitten by the Alligator!
Ryan's head barely fit in the Alligators mouth!
I guess you could argue we do come from monkeys because I swear I've seen them do this before!
Cooling down in the air conditioned room at the zoo! She was talking and cooing and having a great time with her Mimi.Monkey rides
Ryan on the Montreal!! His head is looking alot better
Poor sweaty Delaney, I feel your pain with my 27 layers on!! Why can't I wear spaghetti straps, or do like she did and take it off entirely! But no one would want to see me all national geographic, so I'll keep it on hot or not!
My sweet angel girl sleeping at the zoo!

4th of July

Every girl needs a 4th of July pedi!!! Katie painted all the girls toes, and of course Ryan wanted in on the action. We only painted his big toy blue after we got dads permission!! Such cute little toes! Katie made the girls these adorable 4th dresses!! They are so dang cute and versatile too since they don't look too 4th looking.
This isn't the best picture of her dress but I need to get the rest of them from my mom!!

Makes his mommy proud!!!

Today is Ryan's second day of being totally dry and my second day of really committing to potty training!! Who knew it would be this easy!! He has totally taken the lead and done a great job!! Today we left the house, drove to Dallas and went to the zoo-all day with no diaper!! I'm so excited and I'm sure there will be accidents along the way but he is doing a great job and I'm
SO EXCITED!!!!!

Things are coming around,

I love this little girl!! Things are starting to get better day by day! She is happier day by day and that makes me so happy!! We've been able to do alot of things with her new found happiness which is great because we all like to get out of the house!! She's been to three movies at the theater which two months ago would have seemed like the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard! Her big bro made more noise in the movies then her. She is getting more and more smiley, and less and less fussy. It's so nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel and be really excited that she is apart of our family. Ryan loves her to death and is generally pretty gentle with her. I love getting her dressed all cute in the morning, and then getting to change her several times during the day(she still is spitting up and she needs to wear all her clothes before she out grows them), it's like having a doll to play with. She is starting to play with her toys, roll from back to belly and belly to back, sleep from 9 to 7 She is very sensitive though, total opposite of Ryan, she hates loud noises, the dog barking, being splashed or startled. We love her and are so excited that she is part of our family!! We can't wait to see you grow and change sister!

We're at the scene of the crime....

It's reported that there was a hit and run on Monday June 29th at 5:45pm. Here we are at the scene of the crime, and the only visible evidence left of the accident are the scattered raisins... Someone was able to take a picture of the perp as it rolled on by, hopefully someone out there will recognize this stroller and turn it in as soon as possible. There is a reward for whoever has any information leading to an arrest.

Here is the picture of the victim!! He was taken to the local kitchen and given ice(which he sucked on, instead of keeping it on his head), Tylenol, lots of kisses and put on concussion watch!
This picture was taken the day after, you can't really tell how swollen he really was, and it swelled right away, but he only cried for a minute and then said that he was ready to go swimming!!! He was bucked out of the stroller, luckily we weren't really moving but he still hit head first. I can't imagine the headache he would have, but he was fine and was totally ready to swim, jump, and dive!! Can't wait for full contact football!
