Highway robbery...

Today our doctor bill for my two sweets was $70-(that didn't include the $80 for medication for both kids with raging ear infections)We have gone to the circus, Disney on Ice and the rodeo all combined for less then that....and have WAY better memories!! Sometimes being a grown up sucks!! But at least they were both sick(that sounds horrible I know) and I didn't waste the money on nothing....right? I hate going to the doctor and him saying "oh well he just has a cold and now it has to run it's course!"auuugghh!!! Now we can get them feeling better and happy!!! And maybe, just maybe the faucet on both noses will be turned off! I do have to say though for the type of ear infection the doctor says Caroline has she's been pretty dang happy! Thank goodness!!!

Today I was making Caroline some dinner and Ryan asked what I was making-
M-I'm making Caroline some eggs
R-Those are gross, Mom, not eggs she thinks those are ugusting(disgusting)
he is the one who thinks they are gross, and now he's trying to brain wash her.
Ryan came up to me yesterday and was rubbing his back with both his hands...
M-Ryan whats the matter?
R-Oh mom my back is killing me!
I guess my back has been bothering me lately!

have i told you lately that i love you...

GARAGE!!!
i LOVE my garage! 29 years old and this is the first time I have EVER parked a car in a garage!! Growing up the garage was used for storage, junk, a boat, various surfing items, at one point my room, a game room, a dog house, i am sure there are a couple of other things i am missing. Soooo, I never truly understood the hype of parking in a garage. It is AWESOME! My car has stayed cleaner, I can put the kids in and buckle them while trying to get out of the house so I don't have a trail of disaster following me as I try to leave, we don't have to freeze or over heat depending on the season. I can honestly say now I am a true believer in "garage is meant for the cars"

If you give a 2 year old a train ride in the zoo.....Of course he will want to see the elephants, and when he sees the elephant statue it will remind him of the kangaroo's on the other side of the zoo........ So we cross to the other side of the zoo to find the kissing kangaroo. And if you kiss a kangaroo it reminds you that you never want to kiss an alligator, so you have to find the ones that are behind the glass......
When you find the alligator behind the glass, you are thankful that he can't reach you because he might be hungry for lunch, and that gets you thinking lunch??? Maybe we should feed the birds they might be hungry for lunch.......
Once you fed the birds and everyone is full, you think it might be nice to sit down for a little while. Do you know the perfect place to sit down?

SO........you go get on the train, and once you get on the train...........................

We went to the zoo today just for a train ride, but once the train ride was over we of course had to see the rest of the zoo. I was so excited because I went with out a diaper bag or a stroller-thus the reason for all old pictures-no diaper bag=no camera! I did tuck a diaper in between me and Carolines baby Bjorn, just in case! The weather was beautiful and we are going to head to the zoo again tomorrow with some friends!!

Ryan just tooted and I asked him:
M-ry did you just toot?
Ry-i think it was a coyote!
All very mater of fact and that was the end of the conversation!
Come to think of it, it did kinda sound like a coyote!

The best couple of days!

We have had the best couple of days lately(attitude and behavior wise). Yesterday a friend called and invited us to the botanical gardens, and I jumped on the chance because I was feeling really lazy but I knew I needed to get out of the house. So we hurried up and got dressed, packed a simple lunch and were off. It was such a beautiful day and the kids had a blast running around in the fresh air. We were there almost three hours, then we decided since everyone was still so happy and nice that we would head over to the museum! It was such a fun day with friends and so simple!

Then today we headed to the zoo with Mimi(Ry had been asking to see her for a couple of days). We thought the weather was supposed to be beautiful today, but not quite, it was a little cold and windy but that meant the zoo was pretty empty and once you got moving the little chill wasn't too bad. Ryan was so good today, it was so nice and refreshing to have a happy compliant little man. We just strolled along asking lots of questions and taking our time. The most amazing part of it was Ry was totally cheesing it up for the camera! All the pictures are on Mimis camera but I will post them as soon as I get them because they are some of the best ones we've gotten in a while!! Also Caroline was fabulous both days I don't think we heard a peep out of her either day but she was happy to look around, kick her legs and laugh!! She has turned into such an easy baby, it's a blessing! She is happy to go and do whatever is going on, with little to no fuss!!

Hopefully this good behavior trend will continue because it sure makes things alot easier! Sorry for all the bragging but lately I haven't had much to brag about behavior wise so I decided to jump on the chance!

what is up with this little girl?

She has a strange knack for pooping in the tub!! At least once a week she leaves a little present in the tub and I have to hurry and get her and Ry out before one of them decides to dunk themselves, drink the water or put a toy in their mouths. I guess this trend helps clean the bath tub really clean though!!

How does something so cute do something so nasty??

funny things

The other day Ryan grabed a ball of yarn and held it over his head and said, "Look mom it's the Milkyway!"

Don't ask me where he comes up with it but he keeps us on our toes!!

dear laur,

Thank you so much for my beautiful new dress!! It fits me perfectly, sorry I wasn't very cooperative, I think I needed a nap! My mom and aunt had a heck of a time trying to get us to all sit still, smile, and look at the camera, and then to top it all off my silly brother jumped into the picture and his outfit doesn't even go with what we are wearing, ugh!!! I think this picture of us girls is pretty cute even though none of us are looking in the same direction! Thank you so much for this dress, I will get a lot of use out of it!! I love you!!!
Love,
Caroline

Fossil Rim

Everyone is still in town so today we went to Fossil Rim!! We had a blast, everyone enjoyed themselves! Here is Katie and Delaney feeding the Emu. The giraffes are the best part of the whole thing. At first we didn't think that they were out because it was a little cold. I called the office while we were driving through because I was upset they didn't tell us that they weren't out. The lady on the other line said,"oh no the giraffes aren't out today I'm sorry they didn't tell you that!" Then she came back and said "oh yeah the giraffes are out but they are free to roam so they might not be were you can see them." Lovely there cop-out for not having the giraffes out"free roaming"
But as you can see I was wrong and the giraffes were out!!! Yipppeeee!!!

Caroline was totally into the animals, I wasn't sure she would get "it", oh but she got it all right!! Joann let me borrow her car which has a sun roof so the giraffe can stick his head down inside the car!!

This animal was so slobbery!! Caroline wasn't afraid at all!
Ryan was in heaven!!
The zebras were so cool and there was a little baby one too!
Okay so Delaney wanted the ostrich to peck at the closed window(apparently they had done it before and she LOVED it) so Katie being the good mom that she is was willing to risk life and LIMB literally to try and get the ostrich to peck at the window by feeding him a little bit and then try to roll up the window quickly. Well if you didn't already know ostriches are not nice at all, they are VERY aggressive and bite really hard! So Katie kept putting food in her hand to feed the bird, the first time he bit her Brent stepped on the peddle and about drove off with the birds neck still in the car. By her third try the ostrich actually broke the skin and she decided Delaney was going to survive without the bird pecking the window but she might not make it home with all her fingers at this rate!!!

I think she would have taken him home if I let her!!

Still not afraid!!!

More Christmas.....

Grandma and Papa came over Christmas afternoon to give Ryan and Caroline their presents since we didn't make it out to their house on Christmas Eve because of the snow.

We got a museum pass and we are ALL very EXCITED!! It will get a TON of use over the next year!!

Grandma Jari got Ry a Lighting McQueen hat and a race car t-shirt, which he wanted put on him right away!

A little snuggle time with Papa!
