WONDERFUL

we have had the most beautiful, wonderful, perfect, amazing, fabulous, glorious, super, sublime weather!! we have spent every possible moment outside! monday we spent 4 and half hours at the zoo and loved every moment of it.
today we had a great day with mimi and gramps! Ry caught a fish!! Gramps has tried to catch fish at least three times now, and the last time gramps accidentally caught a turtle, ry has talked about it non stop! well today they won!! they caught three fish and ry was so excited!! a little too excited, he bounced this fish all around the pier! so excited!! they were little fish of some kind, but they bit often which is great for the short attention span of a two year old.

on their way to catch the BIG one! did i mention the weather was glorious!!
earlier in the day we went to Heritage Farm in plano! it was small and fun! ry loved walking around and playing in the old school.
Rise your hand if you have a question!
milk, milk, milk

My Little Herd of Elephants

trick or treating with my herd!!
I was in JoAnns fabric trying to decide what costumes to make for the kids for Halloween. Ryan saw the pattern for the Elephant costume and he loved it. He made his elephant noise and wouldn't let go of the pattern. So, elephants they were. We spend hours making them and then he didn't want to put it on! Yikes! He is such a ham I knew he would love it once he had it on and could attract the attention. So i wrestled him into the costume and took him to Jared's office. PawPaw took him down to talk to the girls at the bank who all fussed over him, and he was hooked! He wanted to show everyone his costume!
caroline had a great time , we just held her the entire night. I took the kids with me to run errands on saturday and I had three different people come up and ask to take their pictures because of how cute the costumes were.
not to toot my own horn (toot-toot) but they were pretty dang cute.
i'm so glad my mom helped me get them finished in time! ry loved every minute of collecting his candy~ the best part is he has only had one piece!! he has totally forgotten he has a huge bag full of candy!!

my happy girl!

having a serious conversation with her daddy!

i'm already thinking about next year~~

smiles all around!

this is my happy girl, ry started calling her cricket this week and I think the nickname might stick, she she is chirpy!! if she wants attention or needs something she lets out a high pitch squeal! it works!!
this pictures says it all, she is just happy~~

Pumpkin Patch

okay so from this peaceful, happy picture it appears that everyone was having a wonderful day at the pumpkin patch, oh contraire mon frere, boy were you mistaken!!! this is more what our day looked like!! i don't know what got into her because she is normally so happy and laid back!! i have the exact same picture of ry crying in his costume so I guess it is a family tradition!! it wasn't because of the costume she just cried all afternoon!

caroline screamed and ry wandered around kicking pumpkins!!

this day just didn't go as planned A.T. A.L.L.!!! i was there by myself and it was hard to wrangle both of them especially since caroline is now on the move. i hate it when i have something planned and in my head it sounds wonderful, and then NOTHING goes as planned in any way, shape or form. i had about 4 people ask me if i needed any help and two different people say i will laugh about the pictures later.
no one held still
this was my best shot all day, right when we got there and he was looking at a Buzz Lightyear display!
all ry wanted to do was bounce in the bouncy house, needless to say we were at one last week and he just kind of wandered around lost with out his cousin miss d to play with

Caroline pulling her self around the room

What a fun and busy month we have had

Here are some fair pictures continued: Ryan loved the petting zoo! The cow looked like she wasn't to sure of Ryan

Mimi and Ryan waiting for the dog show(which he has talked about several times since)

The day before the fair Mimi took us to the Heard Museum-which is a nature preserve. They had a wonderful dinosaur trail, the dinosaur moved and roared at us! Ryan loved every minute of it and tried to join them on most exhibits.
Caroline enjoyed the walk but wasn't too interested in the dinosaurs

Ryan was petting the dinosaurs tongue!
This was the first the dino on the trail. Ryan wasn't expecting it to roar at him.
Off to find next dino!Earlier in the month I got to go to a hockey game. I invited my friend Maria, she has a little boy a day older than Caroline so it was nice to get out with out any babies.
I have a friend that just had a baby so I took her little boy to the zoo with us. Graham and Ry are only a couple of weeks apart but the are TOTALLY opposite in temperament. One boy was always ahead ( I bet you can guess which one) and the other was always straggling behind. It was kind of funny because they were never together but both enjoyed them selves. I almost forgot Caroline was there except for the fact that I was pushing her stroller. I thought it was going to be a nice cool day-boy was I wrong, it was the most humid day we've had all year-yuk!
Ryan eating pudding for the first time and totally enjoying every moment of it!
Sister just happy strolling along!

what ry has been talking about

Ryan has been saying all kinds of crazy things, so good and some bad but all funny!

The other day I made Ry a sandwich, he took it and stuck his finger in the middle of it and then said," Look mom a finger sandwich!"

I was in a parking lot and some guy was trying to backup into me and I proclaimed
MOM-"Cooomme ON dude!"
from the back Ryan piped up with
RYAN-"come on dude your pissing me off!!!"
Oooppss I guess it doesn't sound so good coming out of the mouth of a two year old! Check other word off the list that I didn't think was too bad!

We were driving to my parents house when Ryan said from the backseat
RYAN- "mom, gramps poops in the yard"
MOM- "no Ryan gramps doesn't poop in the yard, Satch poops in the yard and gramps cleans it up!"

The list goes on and on, I need to be better about writing them down just for my sake so I can show him what he said when he was little.

Sweet little boy picked me a flower~~ We were out the door at 10:30 on our way to the fair!JoAnn gave us some free tickets to the Texas State Fair and off we went for a day of fun!! Big Tex greeted us when we walked in-Ry thought he had a big hinney!! We rode the train right to the front gate~ it was so easy and another fun adventure to add to our great day.Caroline LOVED the cotton candy, and had it EVERYWHERE~Both kids had Cotton Candy for the first time. Ry thought it was a pillow at first and gave it a big hug when I gave it to him, I had to tell him he could eat it before he would give it a try. They had this cool basketball center set up and Ryan loved the "baket-ball" set up! It was an area where he could run around all he wanted. Ry looking up to Derik I think this expression says it all! Ryan LOVED the petting zoo! This ostrich was mean-he was eating the food out of my cup so fast we couldn't get a good picture, but Ryan thought is was the coolest thing

Caroline was so good all day I don't think she made a peep!!
She couldn't stay awake any longer!Ryan walked around the entire Fair so at the very end he was out!! He didn't wake up until half the train ride was over! We had a great day at the fair with Mimi! Thanks for such a fun day to both grandma's is definitely in order!!

I need help

Okay I have some major problems so I'm asking the world for some answers! I have a Two year old who hears EVERYTHING, can say ANYTHING, and UNDERSTANDS everything. How do I discipline a strong willed TWO year old boy who laughs at spankings and will sit in time out forever no problem? How do I punish mean words, "Go away, stop it, stay out of my room! bad mommy, you go to time out!" If he is saying all this at two what is he going to be like at 4, 9, 13, 17? I need to put a stop to it NOW but I'm not sure how to find something effective and immediate, any help or answers.

What better way to start off the day then with a tractor ride? Mimi, I, and the kids got out today and did a little thrift store shopping and then decided that we needed to let Ryan have some play time. In McKinney they just built a brand new Babes Chicken around a bunch of historic restored homes. They have tractors, trains and wagons out for you to climb on. Ryan loved it~

Serious Tractor face~~
Then in the evening Gramps took us to see Toy Story and Toy Story 2 at the theater! Ryan surprisingly sat through both movies happily, although we did have a little bit of a volume control problem. Ryan has NOT mastered the art of whispering at ALL! He even kept the glasses on for most of the movie. Caroline came with us too and she was a model baby the entire time although a little squirmy.

Giving gramps a little movie love! We were both shocked at how while he did through both movies!
