kids are funny!!!

uncle scottie is coming home from his mission tomorrow, so i was explaining to ryan that we were going to go pick him up at the airport, ryans first reply was, "Mom i want to hold Uncle Scottie first!"

 He made me feeel like i was in an Amelia Bedelia book!

then there is caroline!  she has been hearing alot of NO'S lately or nanana! 

so today in her bath she stood up(which she is not supposed to do) then looked at me and started shaking her head saying," nanana, nanana" and then "sssittt,ssstt"(sit)  she knew she wasn't supposed to be standing and she knew what i was going to tell her!!!  

yesterday the hubs took me to get a massage, out to lunch(Uncle Julio's), buy a new bed(i'm so excited i can hardly stand it, will be delivered tomorrow. I have been sleeping on the same bed for 19 years!), then Tuesday Morning, Costco(i got a new phone), and another Tuesday Morning. We found the down comforter we wanted and a bed skirt.  Thank you goes out to Jari(jared's grandma) for watching both kids ALL DAY-which is not an easy task since Liney Girl has...drum-roll please.....learned to WALK!!!  She has been able to walk for probably over a month now, but just plain old hasn't wanted to!!  Jared kept telling me not to worry about it because when she is ready she would walk, well he was right-if we tried to get her to walk and she didn't want to she would just curl her legs up underneath her, well  Thursday she learned how to stand up without having to hold on to anything and then after that she was ON THE MOVE!!!  Yesterday after only one full day of walking she was walking around talking on my cell phone!!  i had a brief glimpse into our future, strong willed, sweet, loud, head strong, kind, happy, friendly, feisty, little girl!!

and he made it home tonight in time to mow the lawn and play with the kids!!

IT'S A MIRACLE!!!

Jared has been working super hard and crazy long hours to get his law practice going and sucessful-the hard work is starting to pay off but it is still ALOT of time away since he is doing everything by himself-Ry has REALLY been missing him lately and so night was a special treat-i could hardly get him to sit down and eat his dinner for fear of missing a singel second with him dad!  thanks hon for all the hard work and time away we love you!!

 

 

 

Caroline on the other hand is definately an Aste because food is pretty much her first priority!!  Do not, i repete do not get between this girl and her food

i know it seems like all the pictures i take of her are when she is eating, buuuttttt that is when she is happiest!!  she loves her food and she loves to eat anything but kraft mac and cheese!!

the other day we were at the park with some friends, and joe(my friends 4 year old) was chasing a big goose around with ryan following behind chasing joe.  saskia asked joe to stop which he did after a little while(just to much fun chasing a honking goose), but a few seconds later two other geese came up the hill and looked like they were going to chase the boys.  i said, "hey boys look out these geese are going to come and get you for chasing their friend,"  joe ran off and hid, ry turned to the two geese and said,"no goose go get joe not me!"  oh how quickly you turn on your friends ry!!

Ryan had to wear his cowboy hat, and loved talking with the "real" cowboy at the ranch!!  He was in horse heaven and would have been happy just to look at horse!!  Thanks Jane and Cassie for inviting us to such a fun egg hunt!!  Thanks Lacey for the great pictures!!

Easter Egg Hunt Spectacular

I had an Easter Egg hunt for some friends today and it was a BLAST!!!

I made lunch with the help of my friends since I didn't have everything ready when they got here!

 The adults dined on Chinese Chicken Salad, Chicken Salad Sandwiches, and Egg Salad Sandwiches 

and the children ate(which might not be quite accurate since they were more excited about the upcoming hunt, they couldn't sit still long enough to finish, or in some cases even start)

I Mod-Podged the Egg and I found the stand at Goodwill already painted-when I found it I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!

Some more Eggs and Carrots that I made out of muslin and then painted. I found the idea on TIPJUNKIE I think.

I also made this Rabbit Garland out of felt and freezer paper-it was very quick and easy!

She sat in her chair for about 30 minutes after we were all done eating just happily gnawing on several crowns!

spending time on the beach with my family(in Hawaii)

i miss kathy and Barton Springs(in Austin), so that means i miss Austin too!

subway sandwiches COVERED in ranch dressing and the time and money to get my nails done!

I miss Paul at the Thai Kitchen like nobody's business

I think he would still  remember my order if I walked in today!

I miss feeding my Boys on Sunday!!

I miss water-skiing(almost everyday in the summer) and showing up the boys!!

i miss high school(sometimes)but I do miss the friends!!

i miss new baby smell-but not enough to have another one anytime soon!!

I miss catching the BIGGEST fish ever and having the time to lay around and get that tan!!

These are just a few things that I miss!!  But there is a whole list of things that I love-which is coming soon!

So exciting to see how much I saved!!!

and that included free movie tickets to see Toy Story 3 when it comes out in the theater, so I got the movie in Blue Ray and DVD and movie tickets for a $1.99 each!  It makes me want to sing and dance

Now I need to learn how to coupon to really save me money grocery shopping!

I told him he couldn't smile in the picture because he was naughty!!!

i left Ryan in the car unattended and obviously not buckled and this is what i came back too!!!  I was shocked to say the least, "Mommy, look I put on your mascara!!"  

I usually don't take pictures of naughty behavior because it will only feed the ideas but I couldn't help it this time!  He didn't get it  anywhere except his face, which shocked me-I was sure that he had gotten it on his new shirt right as we are trying to get out the door with waiting on us-but i got lucky becasue mascara only goes on your face RIGHT?

I was sure to reinforce that this was NAUGHTY behavior and we were not to do it ever again!!!!

Eyes, blush, and lipstick-that's what he put on with expert skill!!

This is the one thing we did during Spring Break!!  We went to the opera!!  The Fort Worth Opera puts on two childrens shows during Spring Break and it was fabulous!!  Ryan loved it-they did The Billy Goats Gruff!  It was great and we will definately go back next year!!  gotta love the camera phone

Liney Girl finally had her 1 year appointment the other day.  here are her stats

height: 75%

weight: 25%(much to the relief of her father)

head size: 25%

she has one tooth on top and two on the bottom, she is walking around holding on to one finger but WILL NOT walk on her own, she hasn't pooped in the tub since Valentines Day(which if you have kept up with my blog at all you would know it was a huge problem-i put her on the potty, most of the times she pees and every once in awhile she poops-awesome), she can point to your eye, starting to love books-and will bring me her favorite one all day, still loves her bottle and still loves her milk warmed up-i need to stop both of habits but i just can't bring myself to do it, she is just so happy,-and if that simple thing helps then why not RIGHT, she blows kisses, can shake her head yes or no, gives pats, she is loud-babbles loud-laughs loud-screams loud just plain loud, loves her binky on a string(it funny to watch her look for her binky  if it's not attached to her, i was told by the pediatrician that i need to take that away too-NOT YET-i'm not ready), she will do ANYTHING to get into the bathroom to play toilet, love her an open dishwasher-you've never seen a child crawl SOOO fast, signs more and all done, smacks her lips when she wants to eat, loves dogs, wants to be outside, want to do EVERYTHING her brother is doing, is starting to notice injustice, loves to dance, she is just our happy girl and we love her!!
