Baby Love!

So I was feeling really guilty because Ryan has some beautiful professional pictures, that were taken when he was a couple of weeks old, but since we didn't have the money at the time Caroline was born I decided to try and take some of my own. Not quite the same as the professional ones but you get the idea! I love all the rolls, Ry wasn't rolly at all so it is fun to see the rolls on her.
Those little bitty feet are going to take all kinds of places baby girl!

crazy summer days!!!

We have had such a great month so far! Caroline is really starting to be a happy baby, she turned 4 months today, but we don't have her check up until next month, I wanted to have both kids appointments at the same time. Caroline is really starting to smile, blow bubbles, babble, and laugh a little bit. She loves to suck on her hands, play in the pool, talk with her brother, eat real food, play with her toys, and sit in her bumbo chair!

Ryan is FEARLESS!! Which is really scary since I don't like blood, I have a feeling stitches might be in our future! He will jump off any diving board, climb on any toy, wrestle anyone!! He is still a happy boy but has moments of unlovelyness!! Timeout has become a standard in our day, but he goes willingly most of the time so it is pretty painless.

The biggest news is Ryan has started potty training!! He is really doing a great job, yesterday he had 3 accidents and today only 1!! Once he realized that he got an extra piece of candy for telling me he needed to go, he was all about it! Which got a little annoying because he would finish his candy and then tell me that he needed to go again(which turned out to be every two minutes or so), and he always managed to squeeze a little out each time. Tomorrow I'm switching to the mini size M&M's, since I think he ate about 60 Reese's Pieces today. We will see if he really catches on, I'll give it a couple more days but here is to hoping!

We have been spending a lot of time in the pool, at the movies(which are free at Rave theaters), reading books, playing at the mall, hanging out with cousins and grandparents, the list goes on and on!! Can't wait for the rest of the summer!

Caroline might have to grow a little before this dress my mom and I made for her will fit!! Who knew that tissue paper could provide hours of entertainment!

Leap frog

Today we went swimming at the Vanderpools. While we were swimming Katie started to scream all of the sudden, I thought there was a snake in the pool by the way she reacted so it made me scream before I even knew what I was screaming about, well it turned out that this little frog caused a lot of commotion! Ryan was in love at first sight! He kept getting out of the pool to look at the frog. Will this one turn into a princess?

He let me put the frog on his lap and was very excited when it jumped off!

It was a fun day with the family and the kids slept until 6pm! I call that a great day!!

Late night snack

The other night Ryan had been asleep for about two hours when he started screaming. I went in to check on him because I thought he might have pooped. When I walked in he stood up in his crib and asked, "Mom, cookies, ease(please)!" To which I replied,"Uh I don't think so Ryan, you need to go back to sleep!" Silly little boy I don't know why he thought he was going to get a cookie at 11pm!

The other day Caroline was laying on the floor with just her diaper on. Ryan crawled over to her and started to stuck on her belly button, then looked up and said, "yum, mom milky"

I guess he has seen me nurse a few to many times!

BIg Deal

Okay most of you are going to laugh but this was a BIG DEAL for me, yesterday I threw away my blankie!! Now this wasn't the blanket I've had since I was a little kid this was one I have made since I've been married. I have to sleep with something over my eyes because I can see light though my eye lids, so I needed a blanket. Right? Well it fell apart a while ago and I have been dreading throwing it away. I took it to the hospital with me when I had Ryan, it's been on trips and vacations, I took it everywhere, yes as a grown up. I made my son give up his binkie before I gave up my blanket! So long dear friend!

Clean Room

Today I cleaned Ryan's room(which took entirely to long) and in the process decided that he had WAY to many toys and scaled it down to this tiny bin and then locked the closet with the rest of the toys. Now i will rotate out the toys every couple of days. Hopefully now cleaning the room will only take a few minutes with the help of Ryan.

Ryan loves the park, the weather in Iowa has been beautiful and there are a bunch of very nice parks. Ryan loves to hang and swing. I wish we had a little milder summers so hanging out at the park was fun.

I love the way Ryan is looking at his sister in both of these pictures. He calls her "titer"(which is sister but also sounds very similar to sticker) which he also says pretty frequently

CAROLINE SMILES!!!

Okay since this little girl rarely smiles this is a post full of smiles!!! I LOVE the little dimple and hope I will be seeing more and more of it as she gets happier! She is typically happy in the morning and while she is nursing-she just smiles away then but I sure no one wants to see pictures of that!

Her tonuge is always out and her hands are always by her face!

Full on belly laugh-well actually it comes out like a cough! She has started to realize that when I lay her down in my lap it's time to nurse so she does this little laugh cough and gets all excited.
So sweet!

Welcome to my world....

This little girl is really hurting my feelings by puking back up all my hard work!!! As you can tell(from the soaking wet shirt) this is like our 5th round of spit up in about a 2 minute span. i guess I should just give up and keep her in a bib, but the bibs are ugly and the cover up her cute clothes! She's not very smiley but I think she is sure is cute!
