Ryan's Day Out!!

Today was Ryan's day out!!

He's been having a hard time dealing with the change in our house, and being stuck at home all day. Today we got out and did something he enjoyed. We were going to go to the zoo but it was Home School day and the zoo was PACKED!! It was a beautiful day, suuny and 85 degrees-the PERFECT day!! Right next to the zoo is the Trinity Train which goes on a big 40 minute loop through Trinity park in downtown Fort Worth. Ryan LOVED every minute of the train ride and sat nicely in his seat the whole time. I think the smile explains it all. These are the best pictures I have gotten of my little busy body in a long time. It is so nice to see that smile of pure joy and excitement!! Looking at the turtles sunbathing in the river.

I love that smile, he was so excited, and asked for more once the train stopped. He enjoyed the day out so much he took a four and half hour nap!! More outing's here we come!!

Grandma Jo

Grandma Jo got sick right after Caroline was born, and so this was her first time seeing her since the hospital!! It was so nice to have her come by and spend time with Caroline.

Our first day out!!!

Today was our first day out!! I was very scared, and called my mom for a little pep talk. Well our outing started with a trip to the bank. Caroline didn't make a peep and Ryan sat in a chair and ate a cookie. It couldn't have gone any smoother, they were both perfect!!

Then we went to Chick Fila-again they were both perfect!! Caroline slept through the whole thing, I don't think she even cracked an eye lid.

The last stop was Babies 'R' Us, again as smooth as can be, I was so glad to see that it all went so smoothly. I'm sure that all outings won't go this smoothly, but there is a little at the end of the tunnel.

When we walked in the door Ryan was asleep before I even had a chance to sit down on the sofa. Caroline was asleep(oh wait she never woke up) as soon as I got her in the swing, and I was asleep before I laid my head down on the sofa. It takes alot of energy to cart two kids around. This is Caroline all dressed up in her cute car seat that my mom and I made. She was an angel today.

Another day bigger!!

Okay so you can totally tell she is the second child because today was the first time she took a bath!! It was more of a sponge bath and she loved every minute of it, never squawked once. She still has a little bit of crazy eye issues so the picture is a little funny!! Oh the other way to tell she is the second child, she is using her brothers hand me down towel, hopefully those are the only thing she gets hand me down from her brother. A sweet afternoon nap with dad.
Jared was so helpful today he let me sleep in with Caroline, while he entertained Ryan and took him to McDonald's for lunch. It was such a nice break and a great help.


Our good friends the Hargroves came over today to meet Caroline for the first time. Karina and Randy watched Ryan for me while I was in the hospital!! Thank you guys so much for everything you do for us. Ryan LOVES the Hargroves and cries anytime they leave or he has to leave.

My sweet sleepy girl, she slept almost all day today so hopefully she will sleep tonight too!

I think she might like the binkie too, which is totally fine with me!! Mimi was such a life saver this week!! Thank you so much for your help and support!! I had a wonderful time with you and all your help. Ryan will be so sad tomorrow when he wakes up and your not here!! I'm so glad that you are near by and I can lean on you when ever I need the help.

we are trying to let Ryan show interest on the baby in his own time. Today he asked to hold her while she was in her swing, so we stopped the swing and a little bonding time happened. Ryan wanted to point to all of her facial features. He was surprisingly gentle and really enjoyed holding her, now if we can just get him to realize that she is not Baby Reese.

Yesterday I laid Caroline down on the floor and Ryan got right down on the floor with her. He was very sweet and gentle.

GiGi got Caroline her first Madame Alexander doll-it's crazy that they are about the same size. Yesterday when Caroline was asleep in her swing Ryan brought her the doll and snuggled it down right next to her. So sweet!!

Uncle David came to visit us in the hospital!! He was so sweet and excited to see this sweet little girl.

Grandma Jari came to the hospital too and was very excited to meet her newest Great Granddaughter!

She is so sweet and so far very quiet which is a big switch from her big brother. When she was first born and they were checking her out and cleaning her up in the warming tray Jared stood guard just in case she decided to roll over.

Emily checked in early this morning.

The doctor broke her water at 8am.

They started her epidural at 9:15am.

But could barley hold still long enough to get it in & by the time she laid back down in the bed the nurses were telling her to push... SO about the time they were stiching her up, her epidural finally kicked in. She said it hurt!

And she was here, with her PERFECTLY round little head at 9:43am.

Jared was her labor coach.

My mom & I (katie) did not get here in time, we assumed she would not make her grand entrance until noonish. We were wrong.

Her daddy says she is going to be prompt for all of her future dates.

She has a little bit of strawberry blonde hair & very delicate features.

I can't take it any longer....

Ryan's hair is getting very long(when it was wet, it went down past his neck, and he would lean his head back and swish it on his neck) that was the finally straw for me! Jared on the other hand didn't want his hair cut at all, I kept begging and begging!!

Well tonight I couldn't take it any longer....... Look at that cute little boy, now of course it needs to be cleaned up by my friend Shalene, but I COULDN'T WANT any LONGER, and luckily the curly hair covers up most mistakes! Turn on a little Sesame Street and I have a very still little boy!! He has a neck people, I'm so excited!

Tonight was so hard to say good night to Ryan at my friend Karina's(who is watching him for the next couple of days) We both cried and Jared gave him a beautiful blessing of comfort, to let him know how important he is to our family and his new baby sister. I'm so thankful for my family and this new baby girl that is about to join our family.

Okay tomorrow I will be posting about my new baby girl!! We have to check in at 4AM-that is a very rude hour if I may say so myself!! Wish me luck and good wishes.

A few moments of silence...

The other night we gave Ryan his first ice cream cone to eat all by himself, he was so excited and loved every moment of ice cream deliciousness. I loved the silence that accompanied the eating of the ice cream cone.

He learned that he needed to eat the ice cream first then the cone.

The aftermath, which resulted in a bath, I think this was Ryan's idea of the perfect evening!!

Wonderful Weekend

To start one of my best friends Melanie came to visit me this last weekend!! I hadn't seen Mel in almost six years and it was like I had seen her last week. I love friends like that, where you can just pick up where you left off with out any weirdness or awkward silence. Mel had sprained her ankle last week so we were a little down. We watched lots of girlie movies, ate lot of junk food, went to several yummy restaurants and manage to get a little shopping in. For my Valentines day present Jared took Ryan for the whole weekend, it was so nice to have that time by myself.

The next best part of my weekend was my fabulous baby shower!! My friends Shalene and Barbara threw me a beautiful baby shower. The food was fabulous, the company was wonderful and the beautiful gifts were very appreciated. I was so excited and very thankful.

It was a great weekend and I'm so thankful for all of my friends

Pitty Party

Okay for starters still no baby!!! Which actually is probably a blessing since Ryan and I are STILL sick! I have strep throat again and Ryan still has a double ear infection, several cold sores in his poor little mouth, and a horrible diaper rash!! His mouth hurts so bad that he tries to chew on the sores, and then it just hurts even more. We are both on medication for all of our assorted aliments, so hopefully we will see changes(attitude wise, would make me one happy mama)

Two Weeks

Two weeks from today I'm going to be a mom again!!! Still scared!!

Life Changes

Well life is going to change drastically in the next couple of weeks, and as I have said before I'm very nervous. In the last couple of weeks Jared has changed jobs, he is working with his dad in commercial real estate development...this is what Jared has wanted to do FOREVER and it was always a plan for the future, but the future came a little sooner then expected. It means some serious changes for us, but I think I the long run it will be wonderful, Jared is already happier and more relaxed, and it's so nice to have him more available, since his office is less then two miles away, Ryan and I can come visit anytime!! I'm already enjoying that benefit. Anyways that means that our insurance is going to change, since he will be considered self employed. I convinced my doctor that I need to have this baby before the end of the month, not to mention I haven't gain any weight in quite awhile( I know some of you are rolling your eyes but I have no trouble gaining weight when I'm not pregnant, just while prego, so don't roll your eyes to hard), I'm battling dizziness problems, and no sleep. So the 24th of February this little girl is going to join our little family!!! We are all very excited and can't wait to meet the newest member of our family.

So we have been sick for the last week, which really sucks but I digress. Last week Ryan had goopy eyes and the doctor called in some eye drops but warned me that most of the time when there's goopy eye's there's also an ear infection. Well, I really didn't want to go to the doctor on Friday because we had our 18 month appointment today(I didn't want to pay my deductible twice in a couple of days) and he wasn't messing with his ears at all, just very cranky and a temp.

Today we went to the doctor and low and behold he has a full blown double ear infection which the doctor said looked really bad...ooopppps!!! I'm so sorry little guy, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and my happy boy will return. Needless to say we didn't get our shots today, we'll hold off until he is all better. Ry weighed 25.5 lbs (70th percentile), 34 inches(95th percentile) and head 19 cm(90th percentile) so he is doing great growth wise!!

Can I claim that the bad choice was because I was sick too, with pink eye and strep throat??

Here is a picture of me 36 weeks prego!! I'm kind of proud that I still fit in my regular pants(even with my binge eating this week) I'm so ready to be done though, but I'm also REALLY scared because I'm going to have to take care of another baby, that's a scary scary thought, now that I've started to think about it. Now I'm nervous, the doctor said that "things" are starting to soften, maybe hopefully she'll come early!! Oh but wait I'm nervous!
