Before and After

He got a hold of a watercolor pencil, and when it gets wet it easily marks all over the place. Luckily it was just on his mouth and hands. He was very happy playing with the pencil.... Not so happy I cleaned his face and took the pencil away from him!!

I'm crafty!!

I made this little dress for Delaney for her Birthday! I am so proud of myself-it's reversable.
Delaney sporting her new outfit

She wouldn't smile but she was totally willing to have her picture taken like this. It was pretty funny because I asked her to smile and this is what she kept doing. Silly girl

The word shortage makes people do the strangest things!!

We were going to the cannery because Katelyn had a sudden urge to get all her food storage done in one day!! ; ) So we were all most there and then the traffic came to a sudden stop.

Only in Texas do people cross the landscaping if there's a hold up in the traffic situation. So we joined in and crossed too. Right as we were starting to cross the grass we heard police sirens. uh oh...but they weren't for us, they were going up to the problem up ahead.
The problem looked like there was a Jumper up ahead on the triple overpass. The whole freeway was closed in both direction. Hopefully everything worked out okay since everything was all cleared up by the time we left the cannery.
This is Katie in her beautiful hair net canning away!!! Look at that little belly!!
Who knew canning could be so HOT!! She should be there poster child for canning.
Mom's looking pretty sexy too in her awesome hair net.

We actually had alot of fun. We got a ton done for Katie and she has a great start on her food storage. Next time is my turn. And thanks to Matt because he watched Delaney and Ryan. Thanks Matt!!

Sprint Triathlon!!!

Okay, I'm going to do a Sprint triathlon with my dad in October!!! I'm so excited, and very scared!!! I really have to start training because the time will really catch up with me. We are going to do a .3 mile swim in open water, a 13 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run. Yikes that sounds like a lot when I write it all out. The triathlon will be in Galveston in 6 months. I'll keep you posted as to how my training is going.

One happy boy with new shoes--$12
Surround Sound Equipment~~$200
He pulled down a speaker on himself today

Curtain Rod~~$9

He also pulled this box down on himself today

Baby Gate~~$40

This was needed to keep him out of my messy dining room since I've been sewing like crazy!

Plexiglass with Velcro~~$25

My little invention to keep him from pinching his little fingers

Being able to keep a rolling baby out of everything he shouldn't be in to begin with~~Priceless
This is Ryan's favorite things to get into-he loved to open the cupboard and pull out all the DVD's and mess with the surround sound and turn on and off the cable. I'm very proud of my idea to try and keep him out of all this stuff.

When I first put him in front of the new blocking system he was bewildered, he was sure what to do, he sat there and tried to kiss it off and then tried to kick it off. We will see how long this will work. I'm sure at some point he will figure out how to take it off, but until then it's the best contraption I've ever thought of.

These locks are the next thing to go up!! They are the best, a little expensive, but worth every penny. You can't open the cupboard without the little magnet, they never wear out or brake. We had them at a daycare I taught at years ago and I loved them.

Last but not lest of my childproofing rampage, the plug covers~~I've gone around and put them in every socket. So hopefully we are totally safe and baby proof . But seeing as he has pulled two things on top of him, bitten a hole in his lip with his two little teeth, and roll off the couch(dad's fault, all the rest mine,) I don't think all the baby proofing in the world will keep him totally safe!!

This is the sad little baby stuck with just his plain old toys, not all the exciting grown up stuff, that is now all on lock down!!!

Happy Anniversary

These are my favorite type of flowers with a tiny bit of red around the edges.

Happy Anniversary!! We've been married 7 years!! What a wonderful time it has been, our lives have changed in so many ways, and we learned and have grown together. I'm amazed to think back to the time we were dating, it seems like forever ago, but seems like yesterday at the same time! I love you hon, your a wonderful husband and father. I'm so thank that we will be together forever as a family. Thank you for all your hard work and 7 great years.

Okay so from months I've been telling Jared that I wanted to get a tattoo. The idea of a tattoo tortured Jared. I think he despised the very thought. I just liked getting a rise out of him. I know that's mean but it was just so fun because he would get so worked up about it. So for about 2-3 months when ever Jared would bring it up I would say how much I wanted one. I told him that I wanted one on my foot somewhere. Then I said that I wanted a picture of Ryan when he was newborn so that I could always remember him. The ideas were endless of what kind of tattoo I wanted. Jared talked with my parents and tried to get them to talk some sense into me since I am there daughter and I will listen to them...hhaaaa!! It was to much fun to give up, just watching him get all worked up and flustered cracked me up. My aunt knew about this great debate that we had going on, she suggested that I get one while in Lake Tahoe. (Sorry about the back fat I was taking the picture myself)
Yeah that's right I finally did it, after all the teasing I pulled the trigger!!! A beautiful butterfly, it hatched from the cocoon and on to my back. Isn't it wonderful, I just love it, it was worth all the pain.
Okay so I didn't get a tattoo but it was worth watching Jared almost crap his pants when he saw it for the first time. This was the funniest I've done in a long time. Jared got so mad, he didn't even want to sleep in the same bed as me when he found out. The joke went on a little longer, and he couldn't believe the the mother of his child got a tattoo, how could I explain that to Ryan when he gets older. I was dieing inside trying not to laugh. Finally I gave it up and just laughed, it's nice to know I can still get a rise out of him after 7 years!!

A blast from the past...

Swing, swing, swing

Ryan loved swinging for the rest time the other day! I think we might have a stunt man on our hands, the higher he swung the harder he laughed! Ryan loves being tossed in the air, going down the slide, anything fast and full of action.
What a sweet picture of Ryan with his Bobo. Brent was home for the weekend before he went to Florida to install alarms. Ryan and I spent the weekend at Mom and Dads since Jared was out of town for work. We had such a nice time with the fam. The next time we see Brent he will be getting married!

Happy BIrthday Lady Bug!

Happy Birthday Big Girl!! Delaney turned 2 yesterday!! She is such a big girl and a joy to be around! It's amazing to see life through the eyes of a two year old. Delaney is smart, kind, funny, loving, and a wonderful niece. I have loved being a aunt, she makes me feel so special(most days) and I love spending time with her!! I LOVE YOU Delaney Bug!!
Can't get enough of that birthday cake!! She was so cute licking her plate, she didn't want to miss a piece. All week she wanted to know if it was time to make "upakes" for her birthday!

All aboard....choo choo

So lately I've been feeling kind of trapped by Fort Worth, I'm not sure why because there's not a mountain range in sight. I think maybe because in the last ten years I've lived in 5 states but moved 7 times, and I think we will be in Fort Worth for the rest of our lives. Which is fine, but also kind of boring. Jared hates change, talking about change, doing anything different, me on the other hand love change, love going new places and doing new things, so Fort Worth for the rest of my life is interesting. Also I've been very soiled and have lived in some of the most beautiful places in the country(Fort Worth is not included in this list by any stretch of the imagination) I'm talking about places with mountains, oceans, place to camp, go hiking, get outdoors and do things, this is not Fort Worth everything cost money and it's so stinking hot, raining, humid, pouring, freezing, oh did I mention hot that you don't want to be outside doing anything. Okay so after my pity party was over I decided I needed to do something about MY problem, so I got online and looked up mommy and me groups, did you know that there is a website where you can find people who want to form a group for anything thing your little heart desires. I found a group that I think I will like, I went to the my first activity today and had a very nice time. All the women were very welcoming and friendly. We went on a mini-train ride in Trinity Park in Fort Worth. They have a bunch of activities planed throughout the week and you can pick and choose which ones you want to go to. I'm excited and I think my friend Shalene will join too, so we can go to stuff together.

He looks like such a big boy sitting there by himself.

Flamingos, Iganuas,and Aligators oh my!

We went to the Ft. Worth Zoo today! I think this is one of my favorite places to go in Ft. Worth. My friend Shalene and I rolled into the zoo at about 12pm which is a far cry from the 10am we were shooting for. Man, babies really slow you down. We went to lunch before hand at Fuzzy's Taco's, which is a fish taco place over by TCU. It's really good.
By the the time we got to the zoo it was nap time for Ryan. He passed out cold in his stroller. I don't know how anyone could sleep in this position but he managed to sleep like that for about a half an hour. The penguins were a new exhibit at the zoo. What a cute little animal.

Aren't those lizards awesome colors!

Shalene took the reverse picture at the beginning of the day where Ryan was asleep and Jordan was awake. I think Shalene fell in love with my stroller. I have to say one thing, even though I HATE my car, it has a huge trunk, both of those strollers fit in the trunk along with alot of other crap I have piled in there. And both carseats fit pretty easily in the back!! Surprising and disappointing at the same time. Well not disappointing since Shalene doesn't have a car during the day,so it's great that my little car fits all of us and our piles of stuff.
Look my HAPPY boy is back!!!! YIPPEE!!

That's a really Alligator looking at us!!

Happy birthday to me!!

I had a fantastic birthday last week! We had some friends over for dinner, and we had my favorite meal TACOS!! I love tacos and any excuse to have them is good for me. Jared gave me a lovely card and a pair of earring( we are going to go shopping for the rest later.) With the money from my family I got a drum roll please a new CAMERA!! yippee!! Hence the new picture on the blog below!! I'm so excited to have a new camera, now I just need a new memory card because I can only take about 12 pictures with the memory card that came with the camera. The other thing I got was a new watch!! I lost mine a couple of months ago-well actually I gave it to Delaney to play with in the car-BIG mistake I never saw it again. Oh well I got a new Kenneth Cole with a light pink face! It's really cute and chunky!! Okay two more things, I got a docking station for the Nano that I inherited from Scott while he is on his mission(I'm buying him a new one when he gets home) and Katelyn bought me a heart rate monitor with a calorie burner!! I love it, I wear it while working out and it tells me my heart rate, target heart rate and how many calories I'm burning-it is amazing!!Especially since I went back to the gym today!! Thank you to Kelly, Nana, Nana Jo and Mom and Dad for the money. Steve and Joann thank you for the gym membership. Thanks to my friends for the wonderful lunches. Anyways I had a wonderful birthday even though my dad forgot my day of birth. : )

Did you ever hear of the boy who cried wolf?

Ryan has acted sick all week!! He had a temperature of 102.5, won't eat or drink has bottle, and is crying all the time!! He doesn't want me to put him down and is just generally cranky!! I went in last Tuesday for his 9 month appointment with a very happy and came home with a fuss budget. So on Friday I called the doctor to try and figure out what was going on with my baby. The nurse called me back and said that he probably picked up a bug while we where there for his checkup!! Bummer dude!! That really sucks to go to the doctor with a totally healthy baby and come home with a sick one, isn't it supposed to happen the other way around? So today I went in with my sick child to find out exactly what was wrong with him. Once I got to the doctor I think everyone thought I was a hypochondriac because he was all smiles!!!

He smiled at everyone and was laughing with the doctor! All the girls we walked by he smiled and wrinkled up his nose at them. How can anyone believe me when I bring in a sick baby who is all smiles?? Why can't he smile at home? Okay so the doctor did see some drainage in his ear, so I guess he is a little sick and I'm not totally crazy.

Ryan had his nine month check up on Tuesday, and everything was great!! He was 19lbs 3ounces and 30-1/2 inches long, so he was is the 45% for weight and 95% for height. They didn't even tell me the head size, probably because it was so huge. Doctor Worsley said not to worry because he is not crawling yet that he still has 3 more months to learn. I love our doctor, and yesterday I got in on time which was a first, I don't mind the wait because he is SO nice. Ryan had one shot and it is the first time his shots have effected him afterward. That night he got his first temperature of 102.5 and then was cranky all day yesterday. Hopefully today will be better. My camera is not working great so I don't have any new pictures, but in case you were wondering he is still pretty darn cute!

He has grown almost a foot since this picture was taken!!

I was tagged by Jen and the topic of this tag was 10 things I suck at and 10 things I rock at! This was really hard to think of ten things for both-once I started thinking though I couldn't stop. I tag Jill, Leah, and Katie.
10. I'm not very good at keeping my house clean~I can't seem to stay focused to get anything done! I'm just hope that one day I come home from shopping and it will have clean itself, or maybe the menahunies will have snuck in and cleaned it. I can dream-I guess I will have to do it myself.

Disclaimer this is not my house-my house is not this dirty

9. I get bored and like to shop! ~This is really hard on my hard working husband. I have been trying to stick to a budget and find things to do that don't cost money or make things with the pile of craft stuff I have already.

8. I hate noises that I'm not making.~Let me explain, I hate to listen to people chew. Especially anything loud; cereal, chips, gum, crackers. I hate the sounds people make with their silverware while eating like scraping their fork on the their teeth. I think I have very sensitive ears, but I know my dad is the same way. And if you what to put me over the edge have me ride in a car with a rattle that you can't find or stop. It gives me anxiety just thinking about it.

7. I don't proof read my blog before I post it.~This fact I get excited to post, and don't take the time to proof read, I think ADD has a little to do with it too. Jared always comes home from work and lets me know what I missed or what doesn't make sense, good thing I married a man with a English, and focused on technical writing.

6. I am addicted to the computer.~We have a laptop which I take all around the house with me(think it is going to die soon though : (I love to play Spider Solitaire, or blog. I don't really look things up I just look at peoples blogs.

5. I'm a huge procrastinator~Why do something now that I don't need until later. I plan ahead, buy the things I need and then don't do it until the last minute.

4. I love the TV.~I will watch just about anything. Most people have about three show they watch, I think I have about 12 that I can't miss. If I turn the TV on in the morning then I watch it on and off all day. I just can't turn it on, I get a lot more done during the day without the TV

3. I would like to be better at grocery shopping~I like to go that day and buy what I need for that meal, but that gets really expensive. I need to sit down and make a menu and then make things that go together so I don't waste food or money.

2. I HATE leftovers, left me repeat myself I HATE leftovers. ~ First of all I hate cleaning out nasty dirty plates or bowls that have sat in the fridge for two weeks, and second I don't want to have the same thing twice.

1. I am not good at saying I'm sorry. ~ I've gotten better but it still needs work.

( I thought of one more thing I really suck at--mailing things to people-I have about three packages and thank you cards from Christmas that I still haven't mailed, I actually have a Christmas present that I haven't mailed yet!!!)

10 things I rock at

10. I'm a good cook~ I come for a long line of great cooks. I used to have all of Jareds single friends over for Sunday dinner, we had a blast. I wish they were all still here so we could have more people over.

9. I love to have people around me. I would have people over every night if we could.

8. I'm a loyal friend. I will do anything for a friend with in my power. I do a good job of keeping in touch with people once they are my friend.

7. I make the best chocolate chip cookies-I really enjoy baking, which is hard since I'm trying to lose weight.

6. I am crafty~ I've decided that I'm craft not artisy. I was in art classes all though high school and did good but never felt inspired, give me some fabric or beads and I can work magicI love to decorate

5. I'm pretty calm~Not many things work me up to much, I do have a few buttons but for the most part I'm pretty mellow.

4. I'm good at sewing~ I made Ryans whole bedroom set, made one for a boutique in Fort Worth and I'm about to make one for a friend from law school.
3. I love being a mom~Ryan is the best thing that has ever happened to me(besides Jared of course) he is just the best baby, and I've loved every moment of being his mom. I hope he will think I rock.

2. I love being spontaneous- I love to just take off and do something. I love having friends that are up for anything. My family was really good at finding adventures in anything, and I really enjoy that.

1. I rock at being a wife-just kidding but I love being a wife and I love my husband and all the support and comfort he gives me.
