Standby Me

Well, my very nice friend Karina said that I could use one of her standby tickets to go to California, which I thought sounded like a great idea, but she cautioned that sometimes it was difficult to use. I waved off her concern thinking the difficulties wouldn't apply to me! Well I was greatly mistaken!! I was going to fly into San Fran Monday but it was full all day, so we decided to try Tuesday morning for a 7:50 flight, that seemed do able to me and Karina said that it looked great. Okay perfect, well not quite Jared woke up at 1:30 throwing up and was making the most awful noises. I really felt bad for him but at that point there wasn't really anything I could do for him, but I couldn't fall back asleep. Karina texted me at 3:50 am to let me know that the flight looked really good so at that point there was no reason to fall back asleep since I needed to leave for the airport at 6. At 5:30 I went to the store to get Jared some supplies ie; Gatorade, saltines, and chicken soup. When I got home I got Ryan up and left for the airport in the rain. I drove myself since Jared wasn't up to it, I parked in the remote parking to save a couple of bucks. I truly underestimated how long the remote parking would take, I has to park like a half a mile from the station, drag all my stuff to the station(huge suitcase, stroller, HEAVY carseat, pack'n'play, large diaper bag, and last but not least a twenty pound baby.) I got the the station and waited 15 minutes, checked in and went through security and got to my gate-all that work and the plane was gone!! It just went down hill from there-Ryan was perfect but everything else was awful. I waited at another gate for 4 hours-the weather got horrible the airport shut down for about 45 minutes because of lightning. Finally our plane arrived they got everyone on and were about to get me on the plane when they figured out the plane was weight restricted. At that point the rain was really coming down and some flights had already been canceled. The gate attendant was very nice and told me it would probably be best for me to go home. That's just what I did, in the pouring rain!! By the time I trekked back to my car in the POURING rain I was totally drenched. Oh well I'll try again tomorrow!

This was the result of a long day at the airport. I know I keep bragging about him but I don't think he cried all day. He was amazing!! I wanted to sleep too, I had to call Katie to keep me awake as I drove home.

Put me in coach I'm ready to play!

It was such a beautiful day today, we went to Jareds soccer game(over 30 league of a bunch of lawyers :0 )Ryan had a great time even though it was WAY past his bedtime. Since the time change his schedule has been all messed up and I haven't bothered to fix it since we are going to California next week, I just figured he'll be on Pacific Time when we get there. Look at that cute soccer player. These are our date nights every Friday, it's kind of fun because we are starting to get to know people, Jareds been on this team for a year now.

Crazy and Random Things!!

Okay so yesterday I was walking around Costco(my favorite place to go)getting some things for my enrichment activity when I looked up and saw my friend Shalene, who I hadn't seen in about 3 years and last I knew lived in Wisconsin!!! I was so excited I kind of abandoned Ryan in his cart and ran up to her and gave her a big hug, I think the whole store heard me scream!! I was so excited I was shaking and almost crying. I honestly had been praying for a new friend. Now don't get me wrong I have some great friends that I love to hang out with, but I lacking that friend that I can call at a moments notice and is up for anything. So like I said I was very excited, once we got over the shock we talked for a moment and realized the we have kids two months apart and she has lived less then 6 miles away from me for the last YEAR!!! So we exchanged numbers and she said she would call me that night. When I got into the car I called Jared, he didn't quite understand my enthusiasm but none the less he was very happy for me. That night she called and we deiced to get together Friday(today). So today Shalene came over today and we had a blast, it was like we had never been apart. I met her when I was working at Home Depot in Utah, and we just clicked at work, we didn't hang out a lot but she cut my hair and we talked at work a lot. She came over at noon with her beautiful little girl Jordan and we just hung out all afternoon, it was so nice. Anyways I am so excited to have another friend!! This is Shalene's cute little girl Jordan

What's your "purse"onality?

So our enrichment activity for March was the Relief Socitey Birthday Party for church, and our theme was Embracing everyones "purse"onality within our Relief Society. I was in charge of organizing the event, we had about 20 people, and it was a really fun night. Katelyn had the same activity on Tuesday and I was able to use most of her deocorations and some of the left over food. I was so excited to get her leftover because we had less then $80 for the whole program and food. We had a wonderful salad bar and then a ice bar at the end. I'm just really glad when the whole thing is over and I can rest for another three weeks before the next activity. The table decorations were simple and cute-I used my purses and stuffed them with tissue paper and tied ballons to them, then I used the streamers and confetti leftover from Katie's activity. It was a lovely night and now I'm just glad that it's over!!

All I needed was a little insperation

The other day I was reading my friend Jen's blog and she had a to do list posted of all the things she needed to do that day, and it was crazy!!! She has one year old twins and this amazing list of things to get done in one day so I thought if she can do all that I can get something done. So my first step was to turn off the TV and turn on some music-amzaing what a difference not having the tv on makes, I now trying not to watch any tv during the day. The only problem with that is I was up until 1am trying to catch up on all of the shows I had missed-the tv didn't turn on until Jared got home at 7:30 and then he got to watch what he wanted-Sportscenter. So I'm not sure how the whole no tv thing really worked but I got a lot done.

One sleeping baby PLUS Keeping the T.V. OFF EQUALS Clean living room
Almost all the laundry done-maybe half a load left

A clean kithen

Continue reading down for the rest of the results

continued....

My nice clean room with clean sheets and a made bed!! I got some sewing projects done-which I can't show because they are presents
Okay well I'm not wonder women...I didn't get to Jareds ironing but I can do that tomorrow since the rest of the house is clean-I hate ironing!
Ryan's clean room with the wooden letters I painted while he was napping and the signs that I finally hung once he got up from his nap.
And finally a happy boy up from his three hour nap, reading some books-I think we need a bookcase!

Bucket Head

Ryan was playing with this bucket full of Mr. Potato head parts and some how he ended up with the bucket on his head, someone came and got me to show me what he had done...he was totally happy with the bucket on his head and was still trying to play with all the parts. Silly boy.
Last night I went to my sisters enrichment(which was Fabulous, and I copied her and am doing the same thing tomorrow night, they even gave me all their leftovers-food and decor. Steal from the rich to give to the poor!!) Ryan saw this little baby across the table from us and started screeching at her,and they started talking. It was the funniest thing I have seen, he loved her, he just wanted to touch her and hold her and give her hugs. She on the other hand wasn't to sure of the whole thing, I think she was playing hard to get...Good luck buddy in the future, you might want to work on your game I think you might come on a little to strong.
But who could resist that smile...I think it will melt hearts.

This is what 8 months looks like!!

I can't believe that it has been 8 months since I had this bundle of joy.
He has learned how to feed himself cheerios, and loves them!
Other big news, Ryan has learned how to say Dada- Jared came home from work the other day and walked into the room, Ryan looked up at him and said Dada! I think that Jareds heart melted right there. It was very cute.

They are watching Gonzaga play basketball. We went to a TCU vs. BYU basketball game the other night and Ryan learned how to cheer. It was so funny because everyone would start to cheer and then Ryan would yell, he was yelling so loud people around us were looking, it was really cute.
Such a happy boy all ready for bed.

Very rare moment, he is on his belly long enough for me to take a picture. Maybe he'll crawl soon? Who knows...

Blankie love!

I love blankets!! I think your never to old to have a blanket, or have enough blankets. In fact I still sleep with my blanket at night. I can see light through my eye lids when they are closed so I have to sleep with something over my eyes....I know all of you are thinking why not a beauty mask...simple answer it's not the same! I even took my blanket to the hospital when I had Ryan. Jared keeps asking me when I'm going to get rid of it, but I don't think it is happening any time soon. I didn't take it on my honeymoon, that was a big step for me, and I'm sure Jared appreciated that. Ryan loves blankets too, when he was tiny and we were out running errands he loved to have a blanket wrapped all around his head. Now in his crib he loves to have the blanket over his head, or at least all around him. He bangs his heels on the crib while I'm putting his blanket on him for bed and gets really excited.
This is Ryans new blanket that my mom made for him yesterday!! It is beautiful, I love the fabric. I hope he loves cowboy and Indian's when he grows up because EVERTHING is in cowboys and Indian's. The fabric is so soft and comfy. Hopefully this will be a blanket that he uses and loves for a long time.

Little man

This little tuxedo outfit was Brents when he was little-it so funny to think that great big boy fit into that tiny little outfit.
My Gramps is my pal!! What fun we had at the base ball game.
Happy boy! He got a hold of a red pen and drew all over his face.

The monkey is off my back!!!

I'm so excited to say that I'm finished with the baby bed set that I was making for a boutique in Fort Worth!! I've had the fabric since Septemberish, and have just kept putting it off and putting it off. If I had just worked on it as much as I thought and worried but it I would have been done in October. I don't know if it's part of the ADD but denial has always worked for me. If I just don't think about it then it doesn't exists. I need my medication back, if think that's part of the reason I'm ready to wean, so I can take my miracle drug. Anyways the set turned out BEAUTIFUL if I do say so myself. It's baseball motif and it's really cute and simple. It really shouldn't have taken me so long but thanks to my sister, and mom's help I finally finished it, thrown in with a little nagging from Jared. IT'S DONE and I EXCITED!

Whaattt HAPPENED???

So Ryan was all ready for bed, fresh and clean from a nice warm bath, lotioned up and in clean warm jammies. Jared was giving him a bottle(I'm slowly weaning, I'm just kind of over it.) and all of a sudden Ryan started PUKING and all I could think of was "oh no my brand new clean carpets that I waited two days for and are just starting to dry out, please, please, please don't let that land on the carpet!" Being a good dad Jared kept it all on him, I kept thinking he was done and then more would come out-it was crazy. After it was all over Ryan looked just as stunned as I was. I don't think he is sick I just think he was full. This wasn't even half of the mess.

Poor thing the jammies he was wearing had to go over his head, so up the nose it went. He was laughing and kicking the whole time so it didn't seem to bother him. Back into the bath he went again! I think it was a plot to take another bath, and we did the whole bedtime routine again. He finished the rest of his bottle and off to bed he went without a peep!! Not sure what caused it, but I guess he was fine!

APARTMENTS!!!!

I'm really tried of living in an apartment-it's on the third floor, we're running out of space and we don't have enough room for the dog(which I do miss in case some people were wondering), oh and did I mention the third floor, and a twenty pound baby who is still extremely immobile. So last week I scheduled to have the carpets clean on Wednesday(yesterday), so all weekend I cleaned and tidied up so the the floors were really clean and all the clutter was gone. My carpets were GROSS, a couple days ago I spilled an entire container of yogurt, then mixed with baby food, and a glass of milk that Jared spilled while trying to hand to me, we all know how gross spoiled milk smells, so my carpets were disgusting. Yesterday morning I woke up and moved all the furniture out of the way and did a good vacuum job over the whole house(which I need a new one before I get the dog back, dog hair is so hard on vacuums, I've gone though three vacuums in the last three year-does anyone know of a good vacuum that will work with dog hair?) made sure everything was off the floor, then got the baby up for the morning which was about 10:00, quickly got him dress then got in the car and drove to my parents house-got suck in traffic at 11:08 am and went 4 miles in one hour!! Ugh to be stuck in the car for over two hours is not my idea of fun-luckily the end result was fun! Hung out with my family all day and then at 9pm called Jared and asked him how the carpets looked, "They look great," me, "are they dry already?" "yep they feel pretty dry," was his response. I excitedly drove to see my new clean carpets and my husband. I opened the front door with a sleeping baby in my arms, took one look at the carpets and knew nothing had happened!!! Such man vision!!! How could he not tell? I love ya hun but come on now.... He had nicely put everything back where it belongs and took everything out of the babies crib. I asked them "how did you think the carpets were clean?" "well there wasn't anything on them, they looked pretty clean to me!!" Well I guess that's true, with no clutter the house does look alot cleaner. So I called the apartment and asked them what happened and they said the was a mix up ie. they forgot to call ( I think ie is right Jared and I had a big disscusion about the difference bewteen ie and eg...but now I can't remember.) So they said they could come this afternoon, I called at 2 and they said the cleaners had just come and picked up the key and it should only take about 30 minutes. At three I headed home with a VERY tired baby and again the carpets weren't clean uuuuuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhh, so now I was really fired up I called the office and asked what was going on since I called over an hour ago. They said he had to clean another house first and that he was on his way. I was walking out to take Ryan on a walk and the cleaners pulled up FINALLY after all that it only took 20 minutes and now Ryan is peacefully sleeping!!!

Boys will be boys

We had our first "boy" milestone today...Ryan found his "toy" if you catch my drift. It was pretty funny because he was sitting in the bath tub and he could see it since he was naked so he kept grabing for it. He started to play with it then try and play with another toy but he couldn't stop!!! So we got out of the tub. I didn't think those sort of boy things started at 7 months!!! I can't post pictures but it was really funny!

Rollin rollin rollin rawhide!!

Being able to roll can pin you in some corners that you just can't get your self out of! In the last week he just really learned hoe to roll around, I've had to move the coffee table to the side of the room so that he doesn't bang his head.

Here's a video of Ryan rolling around the room. I'm not sure how to teach him to sit up because he knows what he wants to play with and he know how to get there he just can't figure out how to sit up. If I did as many crunches as he does dring the day trying to sit up I'd have a six pack for sure!!

Some picture from the last week or so

ride'm cowboy-you should see Delaney rock this horse!!
So my friend Jen inspired me to make a oneise for Ryan-I love it the but some people asked me if he was a girl, and that has never happened before....I think it was the pants, I'm not sure. Jared told me boys should NEVER wear patterned pants.
It has been such a blast having my family near by. I've really enjoyed being able to spend time with them and having them get to know Ryan. We all went to a TCU baseball game, and it was a beautiful day and then we went back to my house and had dinner and play tribond, which was a nice break from the train game which my entire family love but I hate!
Happy boy out of the tub!! This is the towel my Auntie Laur gave to Ryan for Christmas.
Nakey baby! He is getting so big I think he has gained two pounds in the last couple of weeks!! What a chunky monkey!!!
